Vision Therapy

Vision therapy involves challenging and fun activities which will improve the way information is processed and can help to improve the alignment and focussing of the eyes

Vision therapy is used to treat problems such as lazy eye, eye alignment, eye coordination, poorly sustained near focus, poor hand-eye coordination and lower than expected visual thinking and understanding. It can enhance the efficiency and comfort of your vision and help to prevent some visual problems.

After receiving vision therapy treatment, patients find that their vision performance should improve overall – depending on the initial problem, this can improve performance in the classroom or their sporting abilities. Vision Therapy will make it easier to learn visually but you may still need to catch up on areas that are falling behind academically.

Each program of vision therapy must be designed to suit the specific needs of the person and typically lasts between 8-12 in office sessions which last for 30 minutes each, and occur every 1-2 weeks. These activities will be completed at our practice, and exercises will also be given to be completed at home. The frequency of appointments, and duration of the course of vision therapy will vary depending on the nature of the problem being treated and the specific needs of the patient.

Amblyoplay Vision Therapy

At Vision North Eyecare, we unerstand the importance of early intervention for children with a lazy eye (amblyopia), or other eye teaming disorders. AmblyoPlay Vision Therapy is a fun and effective way to help kids improve their visual skills and strengthen their eye coordination.

AmblyoPlay is an innovative, game-based vision therapy designed specifically for children. It combines engaging, interactive exercises with advanced visual training techniques to help correct the issues that cause amblyopia and binocular vision dysfunction. Through daily use, AmblyoPlay helps the brain learn to use both eyes together, improving depth perception, eye coordination, and overall visual acuity.

The therapy is tailored to each child’s needs, with exercises that gradually increase in difficulty as their vision improves. This personalised approach ensures that your child is getting the most effective treatment possible. AmblyoPlay is done at home on an iPad, tablet or computer, making it convenient for busy families while still being supported by our optometrists who monitor progress and make adjustments as needed.

For children struggling with lazy eye or other binocular vision issues, AmblyoPlay offers an engaging way to develop stronger, healthier vision, especially for children who may have been unsuccessful with patching the lazy eye. By addressing these issues early, we can help set your child on a path to clearer vision and better visual function for life.
