Optical Biometry

At Vision North Eyecare, we are dedicated to providing the most advanced solutions for managing myopia (nearsightedness). One of the key technologies we use is Optical Biometry, a precise and non-invasive tool for measuring the length of the eye which is essential for effective myopia management.

Measuring the axial length of the eye is a critical factor in understanding and managing myopia progression. By capturing accurate measurements of the eye’s length we can track changes over time, looking to see if eye growth is at an age expected level. This level of precision helps us to better understand how myopia is developing in each patient, allowing us to tailor interventions that can slow down its progression.

The procedure is simple, quick, and completely painless. During the test, you’ll look into a specialized device that uses light waves to measure your eye. There’s no contact with your eye, making it comfortable, especially for young patients who are often the focus of myopia management programs.

Incorporating Optical Biometry into our myopia management approach allows us to make data-driven decisions about the best treatment options for you or your child. Whether through specialized glasses, contact lenses, or other interventions, our goal is to help preserve clear vision and reduce the long-term risks associated with progressive myopia.
