Meet The Team
Joe Grossi
Optometrist
Joe Grossi has been practicing optometry for more than 30 years. He graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1988. He has worked predominantly in private practice but has also worked in community optometry.
He worked as a teaching clinician at the Victorian College of Optometry in the early 1990‘s and has a particular interest in Children’s vision. He has a wealth of experience managing children with lazy eyes and squints (turned eyes). He also has an interest in managing children with progressive myopia (shortsightedness). He successfully completed further studies in Behavioural Optometry at the University of NSW in 2002. In 2018 he completed his certificate in ocular therapeutics from the Australian College of Optometry; this enables Joe is to prescribe restricted medications for various eye disease conditions. Joe is fluent in Italian. Away from optometry Joe enjoys cycling, running and spending time with his family.
Katrina Yap
Optometrist
Katrina Yap grew up locally, so you may recognise her face in our clinic. As well as a director of Vision @ Mill Park, Katrina is a clinical teaching instructor and invited lecturer at the University of Melbourne.
Katrina enjoys being involved in the profession outside of the clinic room, and is a committee member the Cornea and Contact Lens Society of Victoria. In 2018, she was appointed to the Optometry Council of Australia and New Zealand Board of Directors. She is also a member of the Australian College of Behavioural Optometry (ACBO) and offers Visual Information Processing Assessments and vision therapy for her patients. Katrina is passionate about making eye care accessible for all, and has completed outreach and volunteer optometry work in South Africa, Nepal and Cambodia. Katrina enjoys fitting patients with orthokeratology lenses to correct short sightedness and seeing paediatric patients. When she is not consulting, you will find her getting away from the city, cycling and hiking.
Dr Vin-Lin Yang
Optometrist
Vin-Lin Yang graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2014 completing both an undergraduate science degree and postgraduate Doctor of Optometry degree. Vin is therapeutically endorsed Vin is therapeutically endorsed (legally able to prescribe restricted ocular medications) and as part of her clinical training she attended an overseas internship at The Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, USA. Vin has clinical experience working in both public and private eyecare clinics. In 2015 she worked rurally in Ararat, where she gained a wealth of knowledge in the therapeutic management of ocular diseases. In 2016, Vin joined the optometry team at Vision @ Mill Park and has developed a passion in areas of (short-sightedness) myopia management, children’s vision and specialty contact lens fitting. Vin is also a Teaching Clinician at the Australian College of Optometry since 2018. She is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese and outside of optometry she enjoys keeping fit, playing classical piano and spending time with her family.
Dr Luke Ho
Optometrist
Dr. Luke Ho is a therapeutically endorsed optometrist with experience in both regional and metro settings. He completed an undergraduate Bachelor of Biomedicine in 2015, and a postgraduate Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Melbourne. His first place of practice was in Tropical North Queensland right where he gained experience in managing a variety of ocular diseases.
Luke is passionate about the therapeutic management of anterior eye diseases and foreign body removal. He also enjoys managing children’s vision, particularly with myopia management and treatment of binocular vision disorders. Luke is fluent in Vietnamese and in his spare time enjoys following the tennis, cricket and the AFL being a devout Hawthorn supporter!
Dr Isaac Curkpatrick
Optometrist
Dr Isaac Curkpatrick is a therapeutically endorsed optometrist. He graduated with a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Melbourne and has since completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Primary Care Ophthalmology at the University of Edinburgh. He is currently an associate director of Optometry Victoria South Australia (OVSA) and is a member of the OVSA continuous professional development committee.
Isaac enjoys all aspects of optometry, and having spent five years practicing in regional Victoria has extensive experience in complex eye disease management and emergency eye care. Outside of optometry he is a volunteer firefighter with the CFA, and enjoys running, reading and attempting DIY jobs around the home.
Carol
Optical Dispenser
Carol has a wealth of optometric dispensing knowledge having worked in optometry since 1983. Her frame selection skills and lens knowledge allows her to offer the best advice when choosing your next spectacles.
Carol spends most of her time at our Reservoir practice and occasional helps out at our Mill Park practice. Away from work Carol enjoys football and is a one eyed Collingwood supporter, she is also a keen walker and reader.
Pat
Optical Dispenser
Pat joined the Vision @ Broadway team in 2016. She has worked in administrative roles but has a natural ability with customer service and working with frames and lenses. Pat can always find the right frame to suit any face and makes sure that it sits comfortably for you. Outside of work pat enjoys yoga, crosswords and spending time with her family.
Connie
Optical Dispenser
Connie has been with Vision @ Broadway since 2007 and does a terrific job at hovering between our two practices. Connie is local to both Reservoir and Mill Park so don’t be surprised if she looks familiar.
She enjoys helping patients choose the right eyewear and assisting them with all their customer service needs. Outside of work Connie is kept busy with two boys and extended family, she enjoys traveling and experimenting with cooking.
Anna
Optical Dispenser
Anna is a long time resident of Mill Park so she knows many of our patients personally! She joined our team in 2020 after many years in the legal sector and retail.
Anna’s favourite part of working with us is finding frames and lenses to suit the many children we see and she loves seeing the joy on their faces as kids try on their new glasses! Outside of work Anna loves spending time with her 3 kids and escapes to the beach whenever she can.
Trish
Optical Dispenser
Trish has worked in optics for over 30 years and we are lucky to have her here at Vision @ Mill Park. She brings great expertise in choosing and fitting lenses and enjoys seeing the look on peoples faces when they pick up a new pair of glasses. As a local herself, Trish knows all the beautiful hiking areas around the area where you will find her walking with her dog.
Lina
Optical Dispenser
After many years in the banking industry Lina joined vision @ broadway in 2012. Lina is fluent in Italian which is greatly appreciated by a lot of our local patients. She has great customer service skills, always make sure your eyewear selection looks good, fits well and is matched to your needs. Outside of work Lina enjoys eating healthy foods, dining out and traveling.
Mel
Optical Dispenser
We feel lucky to have had Mel on our team for over 10 years. Mel has infectious enthusiasm for everything she does and can always choose the right frame for your face. She regularly consults with industry representatives to ensure our glasses selection is up-to-date with the latest trends and styles. When she isn’t at work, you’ll find Mel spending time with her young family at the soccer pitch!
Vicki
Optical Dispenser
Vicki is an ever smiling part of the team and loves helping our patients with their glasses. She previously worked in accounting for over 20 years but now enjoys the face to face care at Vision at Mill Park.
Outside of work she loves spending time with her friends and family and being a Mum to her two boys.
